About Me

Hello, everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by. First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is April, and you guessed it, I’m a nurse, a cardiac nurse, to be specific. I hold a Master’s in Nursing, with specialization in Nursing Education. Along with direct patient care, I also work as a nursing instructor for a local LPN/RN career technical center.

One of the many things I love about my profession is that it is such a dynamic field. I mean, think about it-there are bedside registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs), nurse managers, clinical nurse educators, nursing instructors, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), nurse administrators, nurses who specialize in oncology, cardiology, wound care, respiratory, endocrine/diabetes, neurology, endoscopy, surgery, labor and delivery, pediatrics…you get it! The list goes on and on! This is why I decided to focus my site on the many niches of nursing. By writing about some of the many avenues of the profession, I hope to provide a glimpse into these specialties and allow you, the reader, to decide which area of emphasis you feel would be a good fit for you.

Keep in mind that you may not land your dream nursing job right from the beginning, but be patient and stay focused! With time, experience, and perseverance, it is definitely within reach. Trust me, there is, and will likely always be a nursing shortage, so the need will definitely be there when you’re ready to take the next step. I hope you enjoy my blog posts. I look forward to reading your comments. Feel free to offer any suggestions if there is a particular field that you would like to know more about. I’m always up for new ideas 🙂

Wishing you all the best,

April
